5 by 5 Poker does not ask for your name, your email, or an account. There is nothing to sign up for.
Your streak, your scores, which days you have played, your deck choice and your sound setting are stored in your own browser, in what is called local storage. They are not sent to us, and clearing your browser data for this site erases all of them. We cannot recover them for you.
So the leaderboard can tell you how you placed, the game sends the order in which you placed your twenty-five cards, the date of the puzzle, how many hints and undos you used, and a random ID. That ID is generated by your browser, is not connected to you, and is not used anywhere else.
We deliberately do not send your score. We replay your card order on our server and work the score out there, which is how we stop people from faking one.
We record when someone opens the game for the first time, finishes or skips the tutorial, opens the strategy lesson, and finishes a grid, so we can tell which parts of the game are working. These are counts, attached to the same random ID, and they contain nothing else.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views and records the site you arrived from, your country, and your browser type. It sets no cookies and does not follow you to other websites.
The site and its server run on Cloudflare, which keeps standard request logs that include IP addresses for a short period as part of running and protecting the service. The game's lettering is loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers receive your IP address when the page opens.
There are no ads today. If that changes, this page will be updated before any appear, and it will name the ad provider and say what it collects.
The game is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Clearing your browser data for this site deletes everything held on your device, including the random ID, after which nothing on our server can be traced back to you. If you would like the rows themselves deleted, email hello@5by5poker.com with the ID and we will remove them.
